Well I've heard of dual mass flywheel problems but that's taking it to another (lower) level...

I don't think it was a tear, to be exact, just smacked the transmission down onto the ground at about 50Kmh, hit the pothole when he dodged a pedestrian, otherwise he woulda dodged the pothole instead..lol the trans slammed, the bellhousing broke along the bottom, continued to deform till the flywheel contacted the housing then the engine torque twisted it all apart.

Ouch. One of the guys on another forum of mine hit a manhole cover during construction (so it was raised) and it hit the subframe, triggering all the airbags.

My sister took the 190e I am making into a diesel over a mound of concrete rubble along the side of a roadway at 55mph a while back...car went airborne on one side for a couple seconds....scuffed/dented the underside in one spot, and it sliced the rubber pressure fuel hose as well as blew out the drivers rear shock.....replaced the hose/replaced the shock and re-did some undercoat and it was back in action. Looks like she'd better not do that to her Jetta she has now.

Not lowered but abused..
Honda Accord driven by a teen driver... Offroad, at speed.
Comes over a crest, bottoms the suspension out, and a nice rock in the center of the track, rips out his oil pan...

From inside...
And yes, that cast circle is where the oil pickup goes...

What does the bottom of the oil pickup look like?
