Bad Fuel Accumulator Cause Gasoline Odors Inside?

Can a failing fuel accumulator cause gasoline odors in the cabin? All hoses, seals and filters have been checked. Engine bay area is also fine. Odors start after about a half hour of driving. 1988 190E 2.3
