Joined the 140 club

After looking somewhat seriously at a MB refresh. I decided to buy a 1997 s320 for 7k

It is a one owner car owned by anal person who kept it serviced meticulously.

He bought an extended warranty and it was serviced by a well regarded tech. Under warranty the car had the evaporator, head gasket, ball joints, transmission throttle body and conductor plate done.

I don't know how much longer this link will last but it's a worthwhile read

Mercedes-Benz : S-Class S320 LWB in Mercedes-Benz | eBay Motors

I am reluctantly selling the e320. Don't need 3 cars

Looks great, but the only drawback to me is the color.

It's not that I don't like black. I do. But I can just picture myself obsessively washing and polishing the damn car to make it look good.

Nice looking car Lee. Nothing like the interstate ride of a w140 in my opinion.

I love W140's. I got two of them, and I want more.

Whatever model you have. Change out the heater tee, and only buy it from the Mercedes dealer-no ebay jobs or aftermarket. Make sure you buy a FRESH one from the dealer!!! The heater tee is good for about 70k miles.

Here is a thread to motivate you:

Enjoy your W140,

Martin

Not a good idea to use copper pipe in automotive use...too soft and you are adding another metal to the coolant system. Have it made from aluminum if you want a metal one.

Congrats looks great!

I really like the smoothness of the 722.6 over the 722.3 so enjoy it! Make sure the seal on the electrical plug was replaced and fluid although if the conductor plate was done I'd expect its been replaced. If not, do it.

You haven't got it yet, and did you buy it sight unseen? Curious how you got it so cheap? It showed the car to be at 9.9 or so IIRC on the thread. Enjoy!
