Hi all, can someone help answer a few questions for me please?
I've got a thought in my mind about building a 5.6 m119 v8, by using an early m119.960, and fitting the crankshaft and rods from the m117 560 engine. My questions are: -Will the 560 crank and rods fit the m119? -Will the m119 pistons fit the 560 rods? -What would the compression ratio be? -I think I have seen pics of the m117 front timing case cover fitted to the m119, to gain the distributor, is that correct? Thanks in advance guys. ![]()

Looking around the internet, a few people have mentioned that the 6.0 renntech engines used the 560 crank, so I'm going to assume that it fits. I also found this thread: M117/M119 fiddling. - Benzworld.org - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum where a guy has fitted the m117 front cover to the m119, that means I might be able to run the engine with the m117 loom and ecu?
Anyway I've got hold of an ece 560 v8 engine and loom, so now just need to find an m119 and compare measurements. ![]()

Would look great in my w124
![]() ![]() Just the problem of the pistons now, if the early m119 and late m117 use the same conrods, the m119 pistons should fit the 560 rods. In theory that is....
