Yes, MB factory approves the use of Part Number A001 989 45 03 13 (for 722.9) in 722.6 5sp transmission. Frankly I can't understand why anyone would take a chance on wear, failure or decreased performance just to save a few bucks on the fluid. But, hey, that's just me.

Since your TC doesn't have a drain plug I would be even more concerned about mixing two different ATF's. If you are intent on switching have someone with a exchanger do it.
