W210 Trans fluid line

I hope this serves to avoid a costly disaster for anyone. Yesterday, while repairing one of the fog lights on my '01 W210 wagon I discovered a very rusted trans line under the radiator. It had not leaked yet. Generally whenever any of us change oil we only remove the large under engine body pan, and not the forward one. I'm glad I had too remove the forward one, otherwise I probably wouldn't have know the condition of that trans line until it failed on a long trip. 4-Matic trans = $4500. Check your lines! Dennis
