84 380 sl does not start..will it run with a bad ovp relay?

Hello My 380sl wont start. I ordered a new fuel pump relay and no difference. I pulled out the ovp relay and the fuse is good but when I shake it something is rattling inside. Will the 380sl run without the ovp in place or do I have to jump the pins? I have fuel going into the fuel distributor and coming back out to the a/c line for cooling. Thank You!

I believe it should start or at least sputter/try, but it will be very hard to keep it going until it warms up...depends a lot on the current mixture adjustment, if its on the lean side it probably won't run.
