You've either got a bad roof antenna, or the splitter is no good.

Couple of questions regarding this problem.
Vehicle is a 2006 E350 produced in March 2006(211.056), with SA codes... - 359 (low cost TeleAid USA) - 494 (U.S. version) - 530 (COMAND DVD APS USA with navigation) - 536 (SIRIUS satellite radio complete system). The latest fault code check now reveals: DTC Code TeleAid Control unit D612 Component GPS antenna or the lead has short circuit. D631 Component CTEL antenna or the lead has short circuit DTC Code NAVI – Navigation system D302 The cable to the GPS antenna has a short circuit The GPS antenna (component A2/49a2) and the CTEL antenna (component A2/49a1) are attached above the heating field of the rear window. 1) What is the procedure for removing this CTEL/GPS housing; is it simply affixed to the rear windshield with an adhesive foil? 2. Are the visible wires at the top of the rear windows actually part of the CTEL/GPS antennas? If so, then its possible that the short may exist with the rear window itself and thus require replacement of the glass? |
