Question How much can the standard alternator handle?

Right now I am running 2 pairs of HID (total of 4 bulbs and 4 ballasts). One pair is 55w ballast and the other is a 35w ballast. I want to swap out my 35w ballasts and add another pair of 55w ballasts. Is there any adverse effects of car performance if I do this? Will I be putting too much strain on my alternator or battery?

The stock 2.6 alternator is 80 amps.

I think you would be OK to go ahead with the swap. You're only talking about adding 2-3 more amps.
