1998 C230, 250K, many squeaks
My C230 is nearing 250K miles and 15 years.
Several squeaks have been around and I need to stomp out some of them. One only occurs in the morning for about the first 1/4 mile and sounds just like a bad speedo cable, is speed dependent, and comes from the passenger footwell area. But does this car even have a speedo cable? I thought it was electronic. Another squeak has been there for probably 7 years. It sounds like a cricket in the dash and only occurs when I turn left. I have presumed that is a fan bearing somewhere, but which one? A new one happens sometimes when I turn the wheel at slow or no speed. It comes from the front right. I changed the lower ball joints about 5 years ago. Could it be the uppers? Idler arm? It is hard to troubleshoot these since they are intermittant. Thanks
