I was tired, I changed the oil and did damage
OK - i was changing the oil in my 560SL, and ended up screwing the bolt in crooked.
It seems that the 'thing' the bolt screws into, is replaceable. Where do you suggest I find the part number. Then I'll ask Pelican Parts if they have the part. It seems to have a bolt about 1 inch wide, that I could unscrew. Summary: The oil filter housing bolt screws into something - please suggest how I can order a new one. I got the screw in, but next oil change I don't want to risk a bad thread - off center. What is the part number for the thing the oil filter bolt screws into. Thanks

The part# for the fitting "oil filter to intermediate flange" is 116 184 04 17
The oil filter bolt screws into the fitting and it appears to be removable.

I was trying to find it online also and see you have a name for it; I always thought it was called the oil filter housing. At any rate you're not the first one to do that. You could also consider taking it off and getting a helicoil installed.
