w123 230e fuel filter replacement

Hi there,

Just wondered if anyone knows of a link to a step by step guide for how to replace the fuel filter (petrol) on a w123, 230e?

Or if no link, perhaps someone with the know how could explain....

Its back by the fuel tank

under the car. This is from the M110 280e FSM. yours is the same I believe.
1. unscrew protective case
2 Pinch fuel line with a clamp
3 unscrew fuel line from fuel filter
4 loosen both fastening screws and remove filter

installation is in reverse order. Make sure plastic sleeve is protecting filter from the metal bracket. Corrosion will occur if the metal touches the filter. Easy as 123. There wont be any U.S shop manuals available for that car. Its a euro spec 123. the 280e book will have most of the chassis info you need though.

Many thanks for this
Possible to do with the car on the ground?
Where is the second fastening screw?
Can see the one in-between the filter and pump.
I found an illustration, with arrows, but tricky to see where the second is meant to be.
