96 C280 Rear Brake Hose-Emergency Plan B
Hi,
The rear brakes hoses are being replaced. The flare nut on both rears are frozen solid even after repeated daily spraying of AeroKoil penetrate. Used new Snap-On 11mm flare and the nuts rounded on both rear fittings. Front hoses came off ok. Now ordered ViseGrip 4LW and 7LW, and small 6 inch Snap-On pipe wrench to attemp removal. May try Dremel carbide bit and cut parallel line on hose side to thin fitting and weaken joint. Now Plan B! If line breaks or needs to be cut then I will need to splice a new section of brake line with bubble union. Have OTC 4504 ISO Bubble flare tool with 4.75mm insert. Is this a special size of brake line on Mercedes or can I use standard 3/16 soft steel brake line with bubble fittings? Thanks

I always use heat to free old brake hoses, works every time.
