1992 1903 2.3 Heater Core Bypass Help

Hello all-
I'm brand new to the MB world. I've done a number of forum searches, and even used the google machine on the internets looking for some assistance.

Bringing home a '92 190e 2.3 tomorrow. Pretty sure it's got a bad heater core, but that is almost literally all that is wrong with it. PO went through everything (and I mean everything) else.

I've read some conflicting info on bypassing the heater core- I'm brand new to this, so need some specific help so I can get this beauty on the road until I can rip into the dash.

Does anyone have a picture or two of where I need to bypass from/to? Do I need to pull the screen over the wiper motors, or just bypass in the engine compartment?

I've seen instructions for different models/years, and don't know yet enough about mine to ask a more intelligent question.

Thanks in advance.

Jon

Heater core bypass

Heater Core ByPass - 190e 2.6

Follow the picture diagram. Technically, you do not need to lift up the leaf cage by the wiper. You can do everything from under the hood in about 15-20 minutes. I removed my auxillary water pump because I rarely use my heater where I live.

Thanks- that's exactly what I pictured, but then someone posted about not bypassing some sensor that's under the leaf cage. I started to doubt myself.

Thanks for the help.
