zeggate, the Oxygen sensor screws into the exhaust pipe in the vicinity of the shifter. If you remove the front passenger carpet insert the wire from the Oxygen sensor is protected with a grommet where it goes through the floor tunnel. The coolant temperature sensor screws into the top of the thermostat housing.

Did not need oxygen sensor. Indie cleaned system @$150. CEL light is out.
He did say he got a soft code on O2 sensor. He said drive the car.
My next concern is poor gas mileage 180 miles to tank.

What did he clean? I'd like to know, because as far as I know, the only part cleanable is the MAF, which can be sprayed. FYI, the spray costs about $8/can, and the MAF can be removed easily.

Soft code? And poor mpg? Sounds like you still need an O2.

o2 sensor etc

My mechanic stated he cleaned the air pump system and MAF system. The CEL light came back on after about (2) weeks.
He now replaced part numbers 001407360 and 0001407760, I have the parts and they are quite corroded/ bad looking. CEL IS STILL ON . Mechanic states the computer won't clear ,I watched him numerous times connected to a box with wires , he stated it may clear on its own . He notes that he has taken care of the physical issue ,the car is fine and he is not getting an o2 sensor code.

Does this sound like I'm being raked over the coals? HELPPPPPP

Note mechanic did say that if the CEL light doesn't go out he would suspect the ECU.
