w210 4Matic front spring compressor

I've got a 2001 W210 4Matic that needs new shocks up front.
Its pretty clear that I need to compress the front springs and remove the axles to get the shocks out.
I know that Klann makes a compressor for this function. Pretty pricely tool.

Would appreciate knowing what kinds of compressors have been tried that worked.

I've found a substantial compressor made by Schwaben:
Schwaben Tools - Professional Coil Spring Compressor

Has anyone tried one of these?

Thanks.

Check this site for tool rentals. You REALLY want a good spring compressor. One of the more dangerous DIY projects.
