passenger window won't even pull up

Put the window halfway down and it won't go up. I can't even pull it up! No noises are coming from the door or anything. Had this problem once before but I could at least physically pull it up and the switch worked when the window was helped up. What is peeventing me from pulling it up so I can at least get this thing shut before I street park it in Philadelphia?

just had this issue with my '02 E320 wagon. The wires on the window regulator had fouled and got stuck in the pulley. Window wouldn't budge. Had to take it apart. Totally remove window reg and motor. Trying to fix reg was usless. Ordered a new one, but at least I could raise the window by hand. Put a board in there for a week to hold it up until part arrived

Your window regulator is jammed.
You will need to remove the door panel and then disconnect the window from the regulator.
You can then push the window to the top, prop it up with something - like a piece of 2 x 3 wood.

This sounds easy in the description but there are D.I.Y.'s to be found on the web.

Common problem with older Benz's.

You don't mention which year or model of car you have.

Ultimately you will need to replace the regulator.

Check Pelicans New Parts Catalog

Buy a new one. Pelican has regulators in their catalog. I've also bot them on Ebay. Don't waste your time going to a yard for a used one or you'll probably have the same problem shortly.
