Window Switches Sticky - Clean, or Replace?
About 2 years ago, someones foot (might have been mine?) from the back seat knocked over two fully opened cokes all over my center console... it all pretty much soaked in down there... kinda ruined 'the moment.' Juz playing, anyways, ever since then, in cold weather my window switches sometimes feel sticky and will hold in place when pushed up or down (I always wanted EXPRESS rear windows! ). About 6 months ago, I removed the driver's side window switch and completely took it apart (why in the H3LL are there so many parts to a simple SWITCH!?), cleaned it, and after about 2 hours, got it back together and re-installed it. I think that it helped some, and the sticking is not as bad in that switch anymore. But the rest can act up sometimes and it really bugs. Perhaps it's the contact with the window switch to the wood shift bezel?
My question: What is the cost of these window switches? The front two are express down. And they are the old style switches, more square (not so round like in the 96 and newer 202). What would you suggest... replace, or clean? Thanks a bunch guys!

Thanks CJ! I printed the page out... looks like it'll be a good assistant for the cleaning! Thanks again.

Took apart all 4 console switches, dismantled, soaked them all in hot soapy water, then rinsed them before drying them. I carefully put them back together... Lost one TINY bearing on a brick floor in my kitchen!! THat took me 30 minutes to find it! Anyways, after the first one, the rest went easy... overall it probably took me about an hour. I only did one at a time, just in case.
All went well, and the switches and express opening now work beautifully! Thanks again CJ for the post, though I didn't even look at it... Later I noticed that my switches were, in fact, a bit different... maybe because mine are Express. I appreciate your info.
