Converting a 2.8 M104 to 3.2

Hi everybody
I've got a 1993 280E (in the US this model was 300E 2.8) with the m104 engine.
It seems that the main difference between the 2.8 m104.94 and the 3.2 m104,99 is just the stroke.
They share the same bore.
So, if I were to put in a 3.2 crank and rods, would it work with the same head, pistons and other systems?
What other parts would I need to change to make it equal to the 3.2?

In your opinion, would this be a conversion worth doing?
Thanks!

I think you can use a 3.6 crank, and get a 3.4 alot more hp.your engine would be better than a 3.6,stronger.Have you thought about nitrous or turbocharging your 2.8?You can really make some power.

That sounds tempting. That 3.6 crank is AMG only, right? Are they hard to find?
So if I don't increase the bore, I get 3.4
Would I be able to use the stock pistons?
What rods would I need? Or do I use the stock rods and use different pistons with a higher wrist pin position?
Would I need to change the engine management system?

But getting back to the original question.
If I put in stock 3.2 rods and crank in my 2.8, would the engine be equivalent to a 3.2, or are there other differences?
I heard that the 2.8 is lower compression than the 3.2?

Now that I don't know, there is a guy that was offering 3.4 engine.Although the 3.6 is faster,it can't keep head gaskets if boosting.

Probably a lot easier to just do a direct swap for the 3.2, as it is all the same externally.

Yes, just swapping engines would be simpler, but here in Taiwan
the body number and the engine number have to match in order to register the car.
If you try to change a number, it's illegal.
So I have to preserve my existing engine number.

I thought the 3.6 crank was actually the crank from the 3.5 diesel.
