Electro Hydraulic Actuator. In MB parlance it's a Governor.

It a little black chap with a 2-pin electrical connection to the KE controller. The Governor fine-tunes the fuel metering of the fuel distributor.

It's the same in all KE Jetronic systems (on MBs, anyway) and, sadly, is rather costly so it's not something you replace on the off chance.

People report that it can be adjusted but I've never tried. I have a hot hesitation from stand-still and I feel that the Governor might be the culprit.

Comments from others?

RayH

PS: By the way, what are your symptoms?

oh I have a 99 that will not take full throttle. It sputters, misses, and symptoms were close to a eha symptom. So I take it would be to little or too much fuel. That would point to my oxygen sensor then.tried everything else measured fuel flow, new ignition parts.

Your car doesn't have an EHA. When you spray nitrous and develop misfires its time for a compression test.

when I spray its all right.it when I don't spray I have trouble.it acts like a motorcycle I had the rubber holdiing the carb was rotten. So I order new throttle rubber,as a chunk is missing from it.No it did'nt go in engine.I had to trim it as filter assembly wouldn't fit.

I have adjusted the E.H.A many times & it is quite sensitive and takes alot of patience to get right or at least acceptable. I had a very hard start on my 300SEL and a slight hesitation during accel.

Glad to hear it. Surprised it didn't throw a code though. Let us know if it solves the problem completely.

well tps didn't fix it,waiting now for crank sensor,on a side note when engine gets to 180cit starts to miss bad and act rough.Letting it sit for 15 minutes it start up ok.I will also take to a Benz Mechanic when I replace cam sensor and perform compression test.

my $52. coils

I bought 3 coils from a seller that scored high for $52. each for my m104.994.
Do you all think the price is suspect? My car acts like coils breaking down or one breaking down.
The one coil I had to replace was causing number two cylinder to miss.I found green corrosion on the old coil, but now have cleaned it.I'm thinking of retrying all my old coils.
I still see $50 Bosch coils in boxes for sale on Ebay.

CAR IS FIXED. As I was getting ready to replace crank sensor I notice the crank sensor wire was loose.I plugged it in,and car runs good.
