another fluid that claims it can be used in 722.6

Mystik semi synthetic ATF claims it can be used where Shell 3403M115 ATF is called for - which is the factory fill of the 722.6 transmissions. Its pretty cheap ATF too.

You guys in the upper states and get it at blains farm n fleet too.

The tractor supply near my place is kind of bland (even by farm standards)

the VI of the original shell was 185 or something - full synth - Genuine NAG1

mystik has it at 178 - synth blend - claims to work in NAG1

maxlife is about 150 - full synth but low viscosity @ 100C (5.9cst) - claimed to work in NAG1

castrol IMV is 200 - no claim for use in NAG1 - but has been used with success in some forums

coastal IMV ATF is about 195 VI - claims to be usable in NAG1

mag1 IMV atf full synth is about 195 VI- claims to be usable in NAG1

except the maxlife - all the rest match the vicsosities of the original 3403M115 ATF.

The real mccoy had some add packs that made the torque converter function smooth. The JWS3309 (Toy T-IV ATF) also had a similar requirement buts its not synthetic. When seen in service that ATF also goes yellow with a load of blackish gray graphite in it like our NAG1 does, and toyota also recommended never to change it. lol

The problem here is that we dont know if the add packs have now become universal?

The only countries to get Shell 3403M115 or Spirax S4 3403 is where the front wheel drive A class mercedes were sold, those cars only use this fluid as the gearbox and diffy are in the same casing.

I've never heard of the Mystik brand. Is it new or is it common in some other part of the world. I tend to go with the well known brands.

It is a brand of Citgo - Ive only found their products at truck stops and farm stores. Apparently farmers really love their products.

OTOH I have used their 15w40 (2 gallon jug) and for some reason the engine felt smoother - not that Im saying its some magic elixir but there was some difference - might have been the aleve I had that day.
