M103 Distributor Cap Repair

Approx. 4-5 mm of graphite center electrode (spring-loaded) of new distributor cap broke off during cap installation; balance of electrode shaft and spring are intact.

Can this be successfully repaired? Is there an adhesive that, once dry, will conduct electricity? Or is cap renewal mandatory?

Take out the center electrode from the old cap.

Yes, just pull it out. The spring should also come out with it.
