Transmission goes...vrrrrpp(?!)
My 1991 190E 2.6 intermittently has an unusual sound in the 2nd to 3rd shift. It sounds like a deep "vrrrpp" at the shift.
-- sound seems to come from the rear, not the front or tranny area -- fluids are clean, levels are fine -- does not do it always, is not just a hot or cold thing -- does not do it if I really get on the gas pedal, seems to do it more when I am just barely picking up speed (auto trans, by the way) brookspw
