Unhappy 2003 C230 Kompressor Power Loss Problem

Hello,

I’m new here and I’m not so ‘techy’ so I hope you all won’t mind if I ask for explanations more than once; if there’s a thread that already addressed my issue I do not mind being pointed in that direction. Here is the summary of my predicament – I bought a used 2003 C230 Kompressor with about 99000miles recently.

The car was serviced after purchase and the check engine light was cleared, however the check engine light came back on a few days later. About two weeks later the car just wouldn’t move like it used to and the fuel consumption went off the chart. The car would hesitate and practically choke when I put my foot down, plus there was this tapping/ticking sound from the engine at around 2000rpm.

A technician suspected that the cat converters were clogged and checked them, they were alright. He then proceeded to run diagnostics which returned the following codes (I took a picture of the screen when he turned away);

P2022-04 Heating of component G3/2(O2 sensor upstream TWC)open circuit in wiring.(p0135).
P201C-01 Misfiring of cylinder 1(P0301)
P2038-02 Charrge pressure is faulty. Too high.(p0243).
P2014-01 Y49(Adjustable camshaft timing solenoid)Short circuit to positive.(P0010)
P2014-02 Y49(Adjustable camshaft timing solenoid)Short circuit to ground.(P0010)
P201A-01 Misfiring of cylinder 2.Mechanical fault.(P0335)
P201A-02 Misfiring of cylinder 2.Fault adaptation.(P0335)
P201A-08 Misfiring of cylinder 2.damges TWC.(P0302)

After this he changed the fuel pump and there was a slight improvement in the performance but when I heard that he had cleaned the injector nozzles I took the car away because I felt he did not understand the error codes and was just tinkering with the vehicle. Correct me if I’m wrong but from the codes I would suspect that the camshaft solenoid needs replacement. Right now the car still doesn’t accelerate like a supercharged vehicle, there is still that tapping/ticking sound (which only happens when the car is in motion), and I can perceive a nasty odor from the exhaust.

Right now I’m scared to let anybody touch the car so I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction in getting this problem solved. If it requires some do it yourself steps, I'm no grease monkey but I like working with my hands.
