Unhappy Fire repair HELP!

If anyone has seen my other postings they know about my problems with my insurance company and the damage to my car.
Here goes - a small fire under the pax side rear seat melted some wiring etc as well as frying the fuel pump etc. My new parts are almost all in and now I need to clean the area where the fire was and get rid of the caustic residue left from the extinguishers. The under coating in these areas has been burnt off and I need advice on how to proceed. I want to clean the area and retreat it against corrosion and rust before I reinstall fuel pumps wiring harness etc. Any help as to products and techniques would be appreciated. I have a sand blaster, air compressor and a pretty good selection of hand and power tools .
Alan

after sandblasting and cleaning the area check out a product called por-15 rust preventative. It apparently is the best around.
