C230 Replacing Air Conditioning Compressor

2000 C230K

What precautions are necessary when replacing the air conditioning compressor?

Does the receiver dryer have to be replaced?

Should any sealer be used on the O-rings?

What is the torque of the manifold Torx bolt?

Thanks

Why is the compressor being replaced? If it broke apart internally the system needs flushed.

The dryer is usually changed for good measure.

Use only compressor oil on the o rings.

Oil will need to be added to the system, there are standards for component changes in service manuals. Some compressors come pre filled or at least partial filled.

I don't have a torque spec but spark plug torque is about right, lug not torque isn't

The pump is being replaced because it's not putting out enough pressure and the gas is not circulating. The evaporator pipe is not cold.

The system was evacuated and re-charged just a few days ago, and it made no difference. On the charging machine the high pressure gauge was showing too low, and the low pressure was too high.

If a component with threaded connections is replaced, is any sealer necessary on the threads? If so, what type of sealer?

I was planning to use a Denso pump, which I believe comes pre filled with oil.

Thanks

If the expansion valve is stuck open you will have similar symptoms.

None of the system will have pipe threads, all will be o rings.
