1996 S600 EPC & ESP Lights when Cold
Last July, I purchased a black 1996 S600 Coupe with 31K miles. Recently I have been getting the EPC and ESP lights with limp mode when I first start my S600 (No Check Engine light). This only happens when it is cooler outside, around 50F or colder and only after sitting in the cold for over 12-14 hours. If I drive the car for 5-10 minutes, stop and restart it, the lights go away and all is well. Unfortunately, I do not yet have STAR diagnostic software but I am experienced with working on my own cars. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what temperature related issue might cause an error in the EPC? Were there any such problems that were common on the W140? I did have a pre purchase inspection done before buying, paying particular attention to the wiring harnesses and ETA wiring; all checked out fine. Thank you in advance for any suggestions anyone might have.
