1992-1993 W124 Hirschmann antenna grommets - where to buy?

NOTE: This post is referring to 1988-1995 models with the angled antenna. 1986-1987 models with vertical antenna use different grommets (external portion is shorter).

Apparently the W124 antennas on 1992-1993 models only have a different mounting arrangement and grommet, compared to the 90-91 and 94-95 design. The 92-93 has a metal locknut on top of the plastic/rubber grommet and a thin plastic seal that goes against the paint. The portion under the fender is a metal piece that slides onto the antenna (not plastic/rubber).

Mercedes apparently only sells the 92-93 grommets as part of a higher level assembly for $74 list (124-820-56-75), which is crazy when all I need is $5 worth of grommets. The Mercedes part number on the large grommet I need is 124-823-03-30 with Hirschmann (?) number 722-861. For the thin plastic seal, there is no Mercedes number, but it has Hirschmann number 722-410.

Does anyone know where I could buy these 92-93 grommets separately? I've searched via Google and all I can find are the wrong parts, everyone is selling the 90-91 and 94-95 grommets, which do not work... these are MB numbers 124-827-07-98 and 124-827-08-98. The lower section (124-827-07-98) will not physically fit on the 92-93 antenna.

Related threads on Ben's Whirled here and here.

UPDATE: The early 94 models also used the funky 92-93 grommets... the change occurred in early/mid 1994 production. The EPC says the chassis break point was C083747 / C083748.

Pictures of the very early grommets (used through early 1988) coming soon.

Here is a photo of the commonly-available (and cheap!) grommet which DO NOT fit the 92-93 antennas. These are 124-827-07-98 and 124-827-08-98 which fit 90-91 and 94-95 models only:

Thanks for the tip. I just sent them an email. They show the usual 124-827-07-98 and 124-827-08-98 on their website, but hopefully they can provide the 92-93 style as well...

aftermarket antenna

UPDATE: This is the reply from Becker:
Dave,

Sorry we do not have that part in stock. We looked into ordering them from Hirschmann. They do not stock them and are special order from Germany.

They are expensive. Looking at $60.

Updated photos in post #1 above. Apparently, the grommets used with the threaded-top antennas are NOT available anywhere, period, besides from the dealer as part of overpriced kit 124-820-56-75.

No. You have to buy the entire kit. If you are replacing the antenna, I'd convert to one of the "ball head" type antennas instead. I plan to do that in the future, I don't ever want to buy another threaded-top antenna, unless MB radically drops the price on the seal kit.
