ICV help Please

First post here and hello!

I have a NAM 1987 190E 2.3 16V with 177k on the clock. Its new to me and im shaking out the bugs etc.

I have a low /erratic idle when I plug in the connector for the ICV. Im only getting 2-3 volts regardless of RPM. ( I bench tested the ICV and its clean inside and snaps open and close with no binding etc) The insulation on the wires are cracked and frayed. So Im attempting to rewire the thing. Im referring to the two wires that go into the larger wire sheathing that runs along the rear firewall to the battery compartment.

The questions are:

1) One wire goes to the OVP. "Where does the other wire go?" I want to replace both as a preventative measure.

2) While tracing wires, Im must of mangled something in the OVP female connector as the coolant level low light on the instrument binnacle is on. Sensor apears to be new and level is fine. The washer fluid is fine as well ( I read that they share the same wiring.) So I guess the question here is, "does the low level sensor trace back to the OVP area?"

Thats about it. The OVP is a new MB unit and no the fuses arent blown. Im fairly confident that the problem lies with aged wires or broke solder connectors in the female portion of the OVP socket.

Ill report back once I get the other end of the mystery wire.

Thanks in advance, you guys have a great knowledge base and I hope to contribute to it as time goes on.

Caveat: Electric stuff aint my specialty........I had to buy an Automated Multimeter for dummies. I just found the beep function to test for broken wires.....thats a big step. So go easy on the techno jargon.

Found the answer to Question #1. The red and yellow wire goes to pin 3 on the ECU.
