Should I change the compressor oil?

I have a Sears Craftsman air compressor which is around six years old. I filled it with compressor oil to the proper level when it was new. The owner's manual doesn't mention a need to ever change the compressor oil. Does it need to be changed out and if so, how often?

Probably at least every 300 operating hours.

this particular model recommends every 100 hrs (p.11): http://c.shld.net/assets/own/spin_prod_683865201.pdf
