I am trying to determine if I have a bad key or ignition switch. I started the car and it shut off right away. Since then the key doesn't turn in the ignition. I've read about bad keys and bad ignition switches, but has anyone seen this happen like that? I don't have a spare key to test it with. I am contemplating buying one to see but some have said once you change the switch you need a new key anyway. I don't want to buy a new key only to replace the switch and buy another new key.
