Need help with locating cabin filter on '98 E 300 D

HELP !! I cannot locate the cabin filters on my '98 300 E Turbo Diesel. I have no idea if it is located under the hood or under the glove compartment. I want the replace the pre filters, not the charcoal filter. Appreciate any assistance given.
