When a conductor plate failure occurs. The car goes into limp mode. You only will have 2nd gear and reverse all the time. None of this slipping...or intermittent gear engagement..
Sadly, the 722.6 transmission(which is what you have) does not have pressure ports to monitor pressure as they a way to trouble shoot the older transmissions..., so....because that port is none existent. A few conditions must be met to rule out the problem(s): A) the fluid must not be no more than a few years old. B) The fluid level must be measured with a 722.6 testing dipstick C) the transmission computer must be inspected for transmission fluid contamination. D) I would drain a quart or so of fluid on a new translucent paint pail from the home center, or better yet, I would drain all the fluid on a new translucent 1 gallon paint pail from the home center. E) if you removed just the fluid. I would remove the circular connector, and replace it too... Lastly, you may have had cooler failure and your fluid may be full of water? Get the dipstick...' All the best, Martin |

Car has 227K miles, maybe it is the conductor plate. Is there a test I can do with Xentry? I erased the codes, cleaned the TCM connector with contact cleaner, I noticed a little bit of residual oil on the pins, and plan on driving the car today.

Took the e320 for a test drive.
started out fine. Got to a stop sign about 3/4 of a mile) . stopped, then no go. after 4-5 restarts trans worked again, turned around drove half way back (under heavy load, worked fine) , stopped, no go. Police officer pulls up I explain trans diagnosis,,, After a few restarts, trans worked. 1/2 way back from the stop the trans started slippng when under light load. coasted into the parking lot restart trans worked gonna see if codes triggered again, no CEL

sounds like clogged solenoids or leaking solenoid O rings. (was told by a transmission mechanic who works in chrysler dealership)
btw - its odd that your transmission controller is not shutting down as the transmission very closely reads the in and out speed sensors, it even reads the "shift achieved" timing.
