Stranded at /near LAX - Anybody close at hand?

Situation:

Grad student son in 88 300CE - car dies at operating temp. Sounds like the CPS - is there anybody nearby that can give us a hand? He's got no tools...

He's getting a tow to Mr MB on Reseda ($250 OUCH)

Knucklehead is supposed to be in San Antonio tomorrow at noon (??? !!!)

If someone is able message me at 832-457-9054 or my son Austin at 281-414-855

Regards to all,
Kevin

He's in good hands with Mr. MB if it is the place I've heard so much about. Even if it costs 250 clams you will get an HONEST diagnosis and job. It probably would have cost at least 100 for a closer tow. And of course, if you had AAA and the extended mileage, it would have cost nothing. I wouldn't think about owning an older Benz without a 100 mile tow capability on my AAA membership. Good Luck.

CPS less likely than rotor arm, assuming it starts again when cooled.

Plausible guess (rotor)...

Started right up after cool down while waiting for tow. Car has been sitting for a week at LAX - he drove down from Santa Rosa a week ago and was fine.

Needs to be looked at - there's some desolate stretches along I-10, totally unsuitable for a breakdown...

Update - cause

MR MB couldn't see him and sent him down the street to Tarzana MBZ. Eddie there found oil in the dizzy cap and cleaned it out and road tested it. Said $20 cash when asked for the bill. Son didn't have any cash (???) so Eddie said I'll get it next time and sent him on his way.

He made San Antonio in about 20 hours w/o a hitch...

Now to figure out where the oil is leaking from?

Add'em To The List......

Looks like it's time to add Tarzana MB to the list of MB Shops....if they aren't already. I hope you had your son send Eddie a Ben Franklin & a thank you note
....... that type of kindness should not go unrewarded....
