What happens to a MB digital dash past 1 mil miles?

Any idea what happens to a 6 digit MB electronic dash once it exceeds 1 million miles?

The highest digital I've seen is a R129 SL with over 300,000 ( car for sale on craigslist )

I'm tempted to hook one to a square wave generator and let it run.
