02 E320 NO CRANK K40 Fuse Blowing keeps blowing

E320 no crank--keeps blowing K40 fuse
I have a 2002 E320 gas engine that would not crank or shift out of park. Found that fuse F3 was blown in K40 module. Replaced fuse and it starts up, but fuse needs to be replaced each time you want to start it.

After starting and using manual release to shift out of park, it will drive but won't shift gears. After shutting off, I find the fuse will be blown. In fact you don't have to turn your key to START, just to ON and it will blow.

My WIS diagrams seems to say F3 is a Diesel Control fuse (??) but the line drawing goes to the ETC module, among other things. Any clues on how to troubleshoot this further?

RESOLVED: After 20 hours of research, I determined the computer cooling fan was shorting out the fuse. Unplugged terminal "G" in the corner of the K40 and it stopped blowing fuses. Shifts out of Park and is acting normal. Hope this helps someone!

Cheers
