replacement for Solex 4-A1 carb on 1985 250

Any suggestions for a replacement carb kit for this application?

A company called 'JAM Engineering' (Located in California, I think) markets replacement carb kts for several Mercedes models, including replacements for the Solex 4A-1 carb used on the 280, 280C and 280S cars sold here in the USA, from 1973 to 1976. Check the archives here. As the 1985 250 is a European model, I'm not absolutely certain if they will adapt to that car.
