Question 190D hood pad in 190E?

My new Sportline LE needs a hood pad but I see that the hood pad is $175 from my dealer vs $85 for the 190D hood pad. What would be so different about them? Is it possible I could use the 190D hood pad instead?

FWIW, I used the 2.3 hood pad on my 2.6. The 2.6 was considerably more expensive.

I've been wondering the same thing. They even have two different hood pads depending on what year the 2.6 is. It's hard to believe there were structural changes to the car.
