Ignition conversion 1974 280c

Hello All
New to this site, I have a customer with a 1974 280C that will intermittently shut down while driving have confirmed fuel delivery (mechanical pump) and we have been servicing this old girl for 20 years so we know the engine is healthy.
strongly suspect the transistorized ignition control module and the harness is in such bad condition I would prefer to convert to optical, have seen some posts on the site referencing Crane as a good provider, would like to know if anyone has done a conversion on this model carbureted M110 twin cam

thanks
Edward

Welcome

Work in' on a classic, I see. Someone should be along shortly with some thoughts. If not, you might try re-posting this to the "Vintage Mercedes" section, just for pre-79 MB's.
