2006 C280 Oil Level Sensor

I need to replace the oil level sensor on my '06 C280 4matic and cannot locate it. I read somewhere it is at the bottom of the oil pan toward the steering rack coupling area. We - 2 separate sets of eyes -- could not find it. Guess I need a diagram as t where it may be. If someone has one, or can describe where it the sensor may be I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I don't know of these cars specifically, but ones from the 90's had the sensor on the side of the pan ( about 1/2 way up. )

On my 2002 E320 M112 it is buried in the upper part of the oil pan inside, and I have to lift the engine out to get to it.(or to have access to the top layer of the oil pan) Mine has been with the error message for three years now.

I think yours will be the same..
