Grounding cable problem on my W123 300D 1980
Hello all !
I have a very bad issue going on with my car for the moment ! On the 11th of January, i had a dead battery. From the moment I connected the "pull starters" (don't know if it's the right translation) coming from the battery of the other car, there was some white smoke coming out of the area around the turn signal light (yes, there where the grounding starts). After checking out some stuff, I discovered that a grounding cable is just melted away ! Anybody an idea what could have caused this ? I opened up the big cable wich goes to the interior of the car and up till the border between engine compartment and interior, i see the melted cable. I was wondering if anybody could send me a diagram of ALL the grounding cables of a W123 USA version 300D from 1980 ? Kind regards, Bart |

you must have a hot wire hitting the body somewhere.Or two bare wires touching.
