ML320 will start & run then Die and wont start.

My 2000 ML 320. It will start up and drive fine and then after about 10-20 minutes just shut down and wont start back up. The only way I can get it started again is the pull the battery terminal off for 30 to 45 minutes. Truck will run for another 10 or 20 minutes and then stop.
I think it has something to do with the alarm but not sure. I remember I had a similar problem in my 1996 C280. I just had to pull a fuse to stop that from happening. What should I do with the ML? Is there a body module or something I can replace? This starting and stopping is driving me crazy
Thanks Everyone.
Jay

There could be a number of things causing your problem but the alarm isn't one of them. You need to get fault codes read out. It may be something as simple as a bad crank sensor.

I was going to say crank sensor, also. but, I've never seen a code for 1 on a car that won't start-you? key on, engine off on a 38 pin car, every time. thanks, chuck.

90% chance its your crank sensor. Heat related. The motor warms up and the crank sensor flames out. It's not disconnecting the batter that brings it back, but rather the engine cooling off. Been there done that with several vehicles of your era.
