RPMS when correctly tuned?

Greetings,

I've just tuned the engine on my 72 350 sl. and I think I've solved my hot start problem.
The tune up specs for the 72 450 litre engine rpms is 700-800.
The needle on the tach that I use to tune the engine fluctuates within this range, 700-750 and occasionally up to 800.
Is this acceptable?
I haven't checked the CO at the tail pipe yet, but the tail pipe drips water at idle.
Is this an indication of anything significant, i.e. within specified CO
range?
Also, Hill, my rpms at 60 mph is around 2,800.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Knarf
