Try the key in the passenger door.

Agreed. This would be the next logical step rather than smashing out the window, unless of course you've been waiting for a justifiable reason to smash said window out in the first place. If the passenger door doesn't work next option would be the trunk. Not sure on the w140, but on my w201 there is a safety feature which allows for the sun roof to be opened manually from inside the trunk in the event of an electrical failure, I would assume since the w140 is the flagship model, it too would have some sort of safety feature in place.

What happens when you turn the key? Sometimes weather strip sticks to the door / body, did you keep steady pressure while puling the handle?
Does this have a ski pass through in the back seat? You might be able to reach through and pop the button. I think the vacuum motor is in the right of the trunk ( near the wheel well ) you might be able to lightly pressurize a line with a bike pump and pop another door. |
