E 300-D missing at cruise speed
1997 E-300 D has developed a missing sensation after it warms up and at cruising speed. It does not do this when you accelerate hard.
The dealer suggested replacing the EGR valve and two vacuum transducers. They said it was about 7 hours of labor...not a cheap fix at around $1200. Does the fix make sense and how hard is it to replace an EGR and the transducers? |

Try disconnecting the EGR valve (ask to see if it won't cause dammage or mean anything.) It could also be dirty injectors. Also check the engine temperature, if its cold (stuck open thermostat.)
A diesel miss is very different from a gas miss. There isn't much that can cause it. And there's a lot of cheeper things to check first. |

Engine temp normal
The engine warms up fine. In fact, the engine does not begin to miss until it has warmed up.
