Rear axle

Hi. Will some please tell me the tools and size I need to remove a rear axle on a 93 Mercedes 300se. W140. my boot split and cv joints gone. my brother has a good one he's selling me thank you very much.

The axle is held to the diff with triple square bolts, 12mm I think but having a 10 and 14 handy wouldnt hurt. The axle is held to the hub with a 12 point nut either 30 or 32 mm. Everything else should be basic standard tools.

And a sizeable torque wrench to reinstall the axle nut.

Yup... This needs 290NM so... 1/2" drive long handle torque wrench!

new axle

you can now buy a new axle for about $80.00 new, not rebuilt. FEQ firest equipment quality brand. on ********* or partstrain..just bought two for my 89 300se. cheaper than all the labor to put on a boot, and a brand new unit.
