94 C280 parts replacements true or false ???
While visiting a alt.mercedes news group a question came up about buying a 95 C280. Part of the reply was to have the thermostat replaced at 65k and the Overload relay replaced and upgraded to a 96 year relay.
My question is this: are those two recommendations applicable to a 94 C280? If so I'd love to know and beat the south Texas summer heat before it really kicks in!!! Thanks for your help look forward to getting some feedback. Ah, yeah finally got that passenger mirror replaced, sure would-ah helped if I'd known what the replacement assy was like. Live and learn eh....:p |

A 94 c280 has alot of faults, I have experienced problems with the OVP relay. I usually dont replace thermostates until they cause a problem . Main problems I find on these cars is the trans, engine , and harness for the EA. The head gasket timing covers leak oil . Otherwise really good cars. I have had people bring me cars like this that they just bought and say fix all the common problems and then they dont have many problems after that. Do your maintnance on time and take care of your car and you will be ok.

Thanks for the reply! Would you recommend changing out the Over Protection Relay as a preventive measure????
I added JIm's cool wiring harness and the water temp is now at about 90 deg C it no longer travels up to 100 in stop 'n go traffic. Thanks for the reply appreciate the feedback. |
