outside air temp gauge

Outside air temp is frozen at 48F, swings a degree or two now and then......this is when temp outside is around 75F. is this a bad sensor??
where to look and what to look for?
any help would be appreciated.

Thumbs up Sensor Info!

You can do a search of "temp gage" and look there, or you can start here for sensor info:

87 300e outside temp gage

The sensor on alot of Mercs is behind the front number plate
