Questions for someone who has taken apart the exterior of a 1988 300E.
I need to prepare my car for paint (remove lights etc) and I would like to remove the door seals that go around the top of the doors. They go about half way down the door and can be seen from the outside. Also, what about the moulding in the middle of the door? There is one screw at the end and I am assuming that there are plastic clips going along the moulding holding it to the body. Any trick to remove these mouldings?
Thanks in advance, Steve

Yes it is the strip that goes the length of the car. I want to remove it only to repaint the car (so I don't have paint lines from masking.)

remove the screw and slide it backwards just a little bit then its loose.
front Rear ------------------------------------------------- <- screw ------------------------------------------------- slide in that -> direction about I--I this much. You will probably be terrified for all the dirt that´s under it. Good luck. Pelle |

That's all you do and it comes off? Thanks a lot for the tip.
