sluggish acceleration& rough idle

Hi Im new to this board. Any knowledgeable help would be appreciated. Have a 10990 300e 2.6. When I 1st start her up be it warm or cold weather the idle goes crazy- almost to a stall. Then whether its warm or cold outside she has no pep AT ALL! Hard to get her up to 20-25. Have to mash pedal and then it feels like overdrive. My budget is limited so I dont wanna' go through the rotors n caps n mas sensors if I dont have to... Has anyone dealt wu thv this b4. Much oblidged
